Coaching Is Not Counseling
Do not confuse coaching with counseling. The two are completely different from each other. In simple terms, coaching is a relationship in which someone comes alongside and asks you the pertinent questions about your life and livelihood that cause you to reach your own conclusions about how to attain specific goals. It’s not that you don’t have all the gifts and talents and intelligence you need. You do. Sometimes it’s just hard to see the forest for the trees. That’s where a good coach can help. If relational problems in your family are hanging you up, then you probably need some counseling first.

Let’s face it. You live in a very fast-paced world that is changing more quickly than ever before in history. Just consider the marketing impulses that bombard you every day you leave your home and drive down the street or stay at home and watch TV or surf the Internet. It was not like this a hundred years ago or even twenty years ago. So many things are vying for your attention, sometimes you can find yourself wondering what’s really important to you.

Wouldn’t You Like Someone To Listen?
Basically, you have the answers to your own problems and the keys to the objectives you want to achieve within you. God put them there. But all too often these are marginalized because of the busyness of life and the inability to see these things clearly because you don’t have someone you can talk to who will listen with an open mind and help you sort through your life activities and prioritize them. That is what coaching is all about.

Helping you reach your goals and making your dreams become reality is one of the reasons we are here. We will help you cut through the mundane and get to the germane, to help stir up the gift that is in you in the same way the apostle Paul reminded Timothy of the gift he received during a time of ministry with a group of other brothers around him.

Customized Coaching
We will customize a program specifically for you based on how much time we both feel will maximize our times together. Some people may need only one session to get off the ground and discover what they need to do to become more prolific in their art, vocation, or ministry. It may take several sessions to do that and some may prefer to establish a long-term coaching relationship. It’s entirely up to you. We don’t try to manipulate you one way or the other. We want you to fly on your own as quickly as you can. This is a free service provided by the LCA as long as we both feel it is fruitful and profitable for you. If, at any time along the way, you feel as if you’d like the services of a fee-based professional coach, that option is yours and we can point you to someone we think can help.
